What Does Black and Brew Do?
We are a charitable organization serving under-represented demographics through community outreach, education and employment opportunities.
Our mission is to be the underrepresented voice who advocates for equity, diversity and inclusion in the local food and craft beer industry. We do this by collaborating with local community organizations and craft breweries to host educational events to introduce new demographics to craft beer, highlight cultural awareness, increase knowledge of local food and craft beer culture and sophisticate palates.
To further support educational efforts of under-represented demographics within the craft beer industry Black and Brew Chicago offers The Black Pride Beer scholarship honoring the first Black owned beer distribution company Black Pride, Inc. founded by Edward J. McClellan in Chicago, IL (1969).
Your support and contributions enable us to continue promoting diversity in the craft beer culture. Proceeds are applied to assisting (POC) people of color, women and people in the LGBTQI community with educational and employment opportunities.
Black and Brew Chicago is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization founded by Mickey Bryant in 2019. Our vision is to diversify the cultural and social landscape in the craft beer culture. We will do this by building bridges to education and opportunities for under-represented demographics within craft beer industry.
